Two Opportunities Available Through CAAF’s International Governance, Accountability and Performance Program...
ABOUT THE FOUNDATION:
The Canadian Audit and Accountability Foundation (CAAF) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting and strengthening public sector performance audit, oversight, and accountability in Canada and abroad through research, education, and knowledge sharing.
Since 1980, we have collaborated with legislative auditors and other partners from across the country to share Canadian expertise and leadership with supreme audit institutions (SAI) and legislative oversight committees in developing nations. The Foundation supports capacity-building programs in select countries, with funding provided by Global Affairs Canada. This program embraces the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda for Development and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), with a specific focus on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The UN SDGs broadly, and gender equality specifically, are integral parts of our international programming. We seek to improve transparency, effectiveness, accountability, and governance in government’s management of public resources and delivery of services for its citizens, women, men, girls and boys.
In the Fellowship component of the international program, senior performance auditors come to Canada for nine months. The Fellows join audit teams at Canadian legislative audit offices, participate in professional development courses, and write a plan for Special Project (usually a performance audit) to be carried out at their supreme audit institution (SAI). In the in-country component, the international program delivers training on performance auditing and parliamentary oversight in Guyana, Rwanda, Senegal and Vietnam.
