Greg Clark
Greg Clark is a former member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, serving as Leader of the Alberta Party and MLA for Calgary-Elbow. He developed a reputation as a thoughtful and constructive critic of government policy, focusing primarily on the data and information found in budget documents and government reports.
Greg served on multiple committees, including Standing Committees on Public Accounts, Resource Stewardship, Alberta’s Economic Future and the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund, along with the Special Select Ethics and Accountability Committee. His advocacy led to the creation of an all-party Ministerial Panel on Child Intervention, of which he served as a member. He was twice named Best Opposition MLA by the influential Daveberta blog and podcast.
Earlier in his career Greg co-founded a technology consulting firm focused on information and knowledge management. The firm earned a distinction as one of Alberta’s 50 fastest growing companies and was named one of Canada’s top 250 information technology companies.
Greg is now focused on board governance for Crown and not-for-profit agencies, serving as board Chair of the Balancing Pool, an organization central to Alberta’s deregulated electricity industry, and Chair of the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board, a provincially mandated entity made up of the eight mayors and reeves in the Calgary region tasked with creating and implementing a thoughtful growth plan. He is also Chair of the not-for-profit arts hub cSPACE projects, and serves on the board of Local Investing YYC, an impact investing cooperative.
He lives in Calgary with his wife and daughters.
